About Us

What We Do

Hydrophix of Oregon was founded in 2007 to provide innovative solutions for clean water. Building on the eight years of experience of its sister company in California, Hydrophix is committed to delivering a comprehensive and affordable array of testing, filtration, and maintenance services to Oregon communities and industries facing hydrocarbon and bacterial stormwater contamination.

The exclusive Oregon distributor for AbTech Industries, Inc., an award-winning green business, Hydrophix builds its solutions around AbTech's patented Smart Sponge® and Smart Sponge® Plus technologies. Employing a polymer structure that is chemically selective to hydrocarbons, Smart Sponge® transforms pollutants into a stable solid for easy recycling. Smart Sponge® Plus adds a highly effective, non-leaching antimicrobial agent that destroys bacteria, while neither introducing chemicals into the water nor producing toxic metabolites. Smart Sponge® and Smart Sponge® Plus are currently being utilized in 36 states and provide a simple, proven filtration solution.

Hydrophix deploys Smart Sponge® in an array of custom applications, ranging from catch basins and curb openings to high volume outlet pipes and treatment vaults. From development of stormwater management plans and system installation to maintenance and monitoring, Hydrophix provides a straightforward, end-to-end stormwater solution.
